In 1972, fee only financial advice was essentially unheard of. Crazy-high commissions, hidden costs, and conflicting incentives were status quo. Unfortunately, they still are today. But not here at Macdonald, Shymko & Company Ltd. (MSC). Not ever.
From the beginning, clients hired us directly to be their fiduciary advisor and portfolio manager. We have never accepted commissions or compensation from any outside sources. We don’t sell or represent any financial products. Our advisory and portfolio management fees – our sole sources of compensation – are fairly priced and fully transparent.
Eventually, our advisory model was formalized as fee only. To us, it’s simply what we do, to do right by you.
